LETTER FROM FOUNDER MONICA HEALY

Dear Friends,

Thank you for visiting my site and for reading about my mission. When I was a little girl I suffered a serious accident that could have been life threatening. I recall being very scared in the hospital, missing my  Mom and Dad and my brothers and sisters
.
After I returned home and back to my daily life the feeling of how I felt as that scared little girl in the hospital never left me. I knew one day when I was a teen I wanted to find a way to help other kids who are sick or injured.

A few months ago I became the feature subject of a children's book about my accident titled: Monica and The Zamboni - www.monicahealy.com

I chose to donate proceeds from the book to a children's hospital. That felt wonderful to be able to help even in a small way. But then one night I was lying in bed and thinking how can I help in a bigger way! The next morning I ran to eat breakfast before school with my mom and dad. I told them I had an idea that perhaps could help kids suffering in both Canada and the USA. That was the day, TEENS 4 A CAUSE was born.

My goal may appear to be a massive one! I'm not even sure if I can achieve it, but with the help of other teens and their families in the two countries I truly believe we can achieve the goal of raising 1 Million Dollars for The National Children's Leukemia foundation based in NYC and the Sick Kids Foundation in Canada.

Both organizations are doing tremendous things for kids of all ages.
